Privacy Policy

Who we are

This website is operated by Ana Clara Santos Venâncio, trading as Forestana (and ACS Consultorias). Forestana is a studio for cartography, GIS and web design, based in Acre, Brazil. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach us at [email protected].

What data we collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to respond to enquiries and deliver project work. Specifically:

• Contact form submissions — your name, email, organisation and message. When you submit a form, the data is sent over HTTPS to a serverless function on our host (Cloudflare), which forwards it to us as an email via the transactional email provider Resend. We do not keep it in a database; it reaches us as a normal email and is retained as correspondence (see retention below).
• Email correspondence, any email you send to us directly.
• Analytics, we do not currently have any third-party analytics installed on forestana.com. If this changes, this policy will be updated before any analytics tool is activated.
• Map interaction data, the interactive map on this site uses Mapbox GL JS. When the map loads, Mapbox may collect anonymous usage telemetry per their own privacy policy at mapbox.com/privacy.

How we use it

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry, and, if we begin working together, to deliver the project we have agreed.

We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not add you to a mailing list or use your email address for marketing without your explicit consent.

Third-party services

This site loads resources from a small number of third-party services:

• Mapbox GL JS, the live map embeds Mapbox's mapping library. Mapbox processes tile requests and may collect usage telemetry. See mapbox.com/privacy.
• Google Fonts, typefaces are loaded from Google's CDN, which may log your IP address. See google.com/policies/privacy.
• Cloudflare Pages, this site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, browser, timestamp) for security and performance purposes. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Resend — contact-form submissions are delivered to us through Resend, a transactional email provider, which processes the form contents solely to send us your message. See resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Data retention

We retain email correspondence for as long as it is relevant to an active project or open enquiry. Once a project concludes and there is no ongoing reason to keep the correspondence, we delete it. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting [email protected].

Your rights (LGPD)

This site is operated from Brazil. Under Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD, Lei nº 13.709/2018), you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

• Confirmation that we hold data about you, and access to that data.
• Correction of incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data.
• Deletion of data that is no longer necessary or was processed unlawfully.
• Objection to processing where it relies on our legitimate interests.
• Portability of your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Cookies and local storage

We do not set any tracking or advertising cookies. The only data stored in your browser is your language preference (EN or PT), which is saved in localStorage so the site remembers your choice between visits. This value never leaves your browser and is not transmitted to any server. Mapbox may set its own cookies when the interactive map loads; please refer to their privacy policy for details.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example, if we introduce analytics or change hosting providers. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back if you have an ongoing interest in how your data is handled.
